Brown Recluse Bite (Loxoscelism)A classic presentation of necrotic arachnidism (Loxoscelism) in a 35 year old male. While a variety of spider bites can cause this reaction, it is most commonly associated with brown recluse bites. The bites are usually painless, but soon can develop an eschar followed by tissue necrosis and skin sloughing. Necrosis is more common in areas of increased adipose. |
